

Lester Leon Smith, 89, of Lebanon, PA, died Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Violet I. Noll Smith. He was born in Lancaster on April 10, 1926, a son of the late Irvin L. and Mabel Stark Smith. Lester was employed as a bricklayer/mason retiring from Horst Group, Lancaster. He attended the Zion United Methodist Church, Schaefferstown. Lester served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the Ephrata VFW, Post 3376 and Ephrata AmVets. He was an avid bowler and Philadelphia sports fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time in the mountains. He is survived by children, Sandra Martin and husband Ken of Denver; Thomas Smith and wife Shellie of Terre Hill; James Smith and wife Vickie of Akron; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Violet Richards and Arlene Allwein both of Lebanon. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Bible Fellowship Church of Ephrata, 491 Peach Road, Ephrata, PA. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. Viewing on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, PA and Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church.
