Ronald E. Steiner

Mayor Ronald E. Steiner, 72, of Richland passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Joan D. McGurk Steiner with whom he was married 52 years on October 7th. He was born in Richland on April 8, 1941, son of the late Martin G. and Catherine M. Holzman Steiner. He was a 1959 graduate of Myerstown High School. He was formerly employed by the Bethlehem Steel Foundry, Ridgidply Rafters in Richland and was currently Mayor of Richland for 16 years. Mr. Steiner was a member of the Richland Recreation Board, Borough Council Member and the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of PA. He was a lifetime member & president for 10 years of Neptune Fire Co. in Richland. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters: Michelle A. wife of Andrew P. Voydik, Richland; Monique N. Steiner, Myerstown, Stephanie A. wife of Timothy W. Brown, Lebanon; grandchildren: Emory J. Voydik, Caleb P. and wife Amanda J. Voydik; Bryan A. Voydik, Katherine M. Kristch, Chelsea E. and husband Daniel J. Rittle, Alex R. Brown and companion Samuel I. Hartzel, Olivia N. Hess, Bethanie R. Hess; great-grandchildren: Kendra N. Fry, Ava G. Voydik, Alekzandra E.Voydik, Nikolai A.P. Voydik, Parker B. Rittle and a great-granddaughter and great-grandson coming soon; twin-brother Donald Steiner; brother: Bruce Steiner; mother-in-law Hazel M. McGurk, Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by his son Roland E. Steiner and brother Richard L. Steiner. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Community Evangelical Church, 51 Green Valley Rd, Sinking Spring where a visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be made in Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Central PA, 4813 Jonestown Rd., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17109 or the Lebanon Co. Special Olympics, P.O. Box 1018, Lebanon, PA 17042. The Clauser Funeral Home in Schaefferstown is handling the arrangements.
