Stephen Michael Carpenter, 54, of Palmyra, passed away in his home on Sunday, September 16, 2018. He was the husband of Nanci J. Sellers Carpenter. Stephen was born in Lebanon on April 15, 1964, a son of the late Glenn R. and Katherine M. Seubert Carpenter. He was a self-employed courier and 1982 graduate of ELCO High School. Stephen proudly served his country in the Marine Corps. He was an active member of United Zion Church of Palmyra, loved to hunt and fish. He also was a host parent for international exchange students and was spokesperson for Vickies Angels of Camp Hill. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Andrew K. Carpenter and fiancé Veronica Myers of Myerstown; Victoria Stegman and husband Kurt of Myerstown; Hannah Jolene Carpenter at home; grandchildren, Kurt Stegman III, Kenneth Stegman and Collin Carpenter; sisters, Anne Marie Carpenter of Lancaster; Birgit Hussart of Germany; Teressa Picarelli and husband Vincent of Millersville; Michelle Blouse and spouse Butch Wenger of Lebanon; Michelle Gardner of Columbia. He was preceded in death by brother, Christopher J. Carpenter and nephew, Joshua M. Gerber. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10 am in Clauser Funeral Home, 116 N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown. Interment will be made in Schaefferstown Cemetery with military honors. Viewing on Wednesday from 6 pm to 8 pm and Thursday from 9 am to 10 am at the funeral home.
