Susie Horst Brubaker

Susie Horst Brubaker, 94, of Womelsdorf, PA, who resided for the last nine months at the Richland Christian Home, Richland, PA, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, PA. She was the wife of the late George B. Brubaker who died September 5, 2008. She was born on December 13, 1919 in Goodville, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Rufus and Lizzie Burkholder Horst. She was a member of the Martins Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference, Womelsdorf. Susie is survived by sons, Earl Brubaker and wife Minerva of Loysville, PA; Mervin Brubaker and wife Rhoda of Womelsdorf, PA; George Brubaker, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Landisburg, PA; daughters, Lena Mae and husband Allen Weaver of Womelsdorf, PA; Arlene and husband Walter Horst of Newmanstown, PA; Joann and husband Reuben Martin of Myerstown, PA; Susan and husband Daniel Horst of Ephrata, PA; Anna Mary and husband Marvin Hoover of Womelsdorf, PA; Sarah and husband Melvin Zimmerman of Womelsdorf, PA; 56 grandchildren; 238 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters, Edith B. widow of Jonas Zimmerman of Lebanon, PA; Verna B. widow of Alvin Brubaker of Rutledge, MO; Elizabeth B. widow of Titus Hoover of Lititz, PA. She was preceded in death by sisters, Edna B. Martin; Alta B. Martin; brothers, Ivan B. Horst; Earl B. Horst; Irvin B. Horst and Rufus Horst, Jr.; two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM in the Martins Mennonite Church, Church Road, Womelsdorf, PA. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing on Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Fairview Mennonite Reception Center, 141 Jackson Road, Lebanon, PA. Please omit flowers.
