Ann Wilcoxon Mullen, 73, passed away suddenly after sunrise on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. A bright, adventurous spirit and beloved matriarch, Ann’s passing leaves a lasting void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Ann was born on September 21, 1951 and raised in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Donald E. Mullen, with whom she shared 49 extraordinary years of marriage; son Gregory O. Mullen and his wife Valeriya of Scituate, MA; Brendan J. Mullen and his wife Nombuso of Johannesburg, South Africa; and Alexander R. Mullen and his wife Ruth of Brooklyn, NY.
Her fierce devotion to her family was matched only by the pride and joy she found in her role as grandmother to Aleksandra and Lukas Mullen of Scituate, MA, and Carter and Myles Mullen of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ann was the daughter of Roloson and Mary (MacIvor) Wilcoxon and is survived by her cherished sisters Mary Lee McNaughton and her husband James of San Diego, CA and Claire Perry and her husband Kenneth of Grosse Pointe, MI.
A graduate of Olivet College in Michigan, Ann moved to Beacon Hill, Boston in 1973 to continue her education at the Katherine Gibbs School. Professionally, Ann brought her talents to the architectural firm Jung, Brannen, and later to real estate firms including Hunneman Property Management and Continental Wingate Company. She also gave generously of her time, volunteering in the Scituate Public Schools, Christmas in the City, and at the Scituate Senior Center.
Born with a boundless curiosity and strong sense of self, Ann lived life on her own terms. Ann was never one to sit still. She was an avid tennis and pickleball player and a resolute golfer. Her love for travel was legendary—riding camels in Egypt, mounting elephants in Thailand, spotting lions on African safaris, and even petting wallabies in Australia. She embraced every adventure with enthusiasm and left with a story worth telling.
Those who knew Ann will remember her as a force of nature: bold, honest, full of laughter, and always unafraid to speak her mind. She had a deep and enduring impact on everyone she met, a larger-than-life presence with an unforgettable spark. She will be missed dearly, remembered fondly, and celebrated always.
Friends and family are invited to participate in a celebration of Ann’s life at the Scituate Country Club on May 4th from 1 - 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Ann’s memory to the Scituate Senior Center, 333 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA 02066
