

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Dorothy M. (Gilmore) Shea. David was known for being humorous, hard-working, loyal, honest, devoted, and kind-hearted.
Proud father of Brendan Shea of Scituate and Lauren Shea of South Boston.
Brother of Bobby J. Shea III, Paul Shea, Patricia Shea-Fryzel, Michael Shea, Kathleen Frenchette and Anne Hammond. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
David was a master electrician, electrical engineer, and HVAC technician. He was a man of many talents and dedicated much of his life to his profession. David was immensely proud of his daughter Lauren, an emergency room nurse and son Brendan, a pipe fitter.
In his personal life, David loved fishing and was known for his good sense of humor. Despite a rough exterior, he had a heart of gold. He was the true definition of a father and husband, taking immense pride in his family. He was particularly proud of Lynn's 10 years of sobriety. David himself celebrated 27 years of sobriety, a testament to his strength and perseverance.
He was a townie meets Dot rat, a unique personality cherished by those who knew him. David loved his cats, Mustache and Hope, who brought him much joy.
David Shea's legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. His memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, Massachusetts. Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor. Interment immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Meeting House Lane, Scituate Harbor. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
