

Deborah "Debby" Wenzler of Situate, MA passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Her beloved husband, Jim Walden, was by her side. Family members spent the day with her saying goodbyes. After they departed, Debby said her final goodbye to Jim.
Born on June 13, 1943, at Saint Margaret's Hospital in Boston. Debby was raised in Milton, MA. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Dedham in 1961 and earned her degree from Salve Regina College in Newport, RI in 1965. Following graduation Debby taught first grade in Brockton for three years before retiring to raise her family.
Debby was a devoted mother to her sons, Geoffrey Martin and Craig Martin. She was deeply involved in their lives and activities, always offering encouragement and support.
Once her sons left for college, she began working at Filenes (later Macy's) in Braintree, MA, in the cosmetic department. She was a gifted makeup artist, often requested by customers to help them prepare for special occasions.
Beyond her career and family, Debby loved gardening, playing tennis, and volunteering at Glastonbury Abbey, where she was a lector and helped organize annual auctions and summer plays. Her favorite role was portraying Liza Minnelli—an unforgettable performance that brought joy to many. Debby and Jim shared a love of travel, enjoying cruises and trips to Italy, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Naples, Florida. She also cherished her "sister only" vacations with Maureen and Beth
Debby was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Rosemary Wenzler, and her sister Rosemary Wright. She is survived by her husband Jim; her sons Geoffrey Martin (Nikki) and Craig Martin; her grandchildren Dan Martin (Womba) and Savanah Rose Wu (James); and her great grandchildren Henry Wu and Kemba Martin; and her sisters Maureen Buckley and Beth Corey.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham on Tuesday December 9, 2025 at 9:30 am, followed by a reception at the Abbey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debby's memory to The Glastonbury Abbey or the Alzheimer’s Association.
