Doris Caroline Hastie

16th 2023. She was 104 years old, the devoted wife of Donald H Hastie for 65 years prior to his

passing. Born and raised in Boston, and lived in Brighton before moving to Scituate to raise her

family. She was an avid gardener sharing her fruits and vegetables with all the neighbors and

friends. She had beautiful flower gardens that she tended. She was a long standing member of

the Scituate Garden Club, The Green Thumb and the Order for the Eastern Star. She served her

church the First Trinitarian Congregational Church as a Deaconess and Trustee. She loved to

cook and organized many dinners for her church and the organizations she served. In her

earlier years she was a Den mother for the Boy Scouts, a leader for the Jr Garden Club and a

Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She leaves behind her children: David G. and Sandra

Hastie of Decatur, AL; Donald H. and Stephanie Hastie of Southington, CT; Caroline and Steve

Alward of Norwell, MA. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many

nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday April 22nd 2023 at

Richardson- Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate Ma 02066 at 11 am. In lieu

of flowers, donations may be made to NVNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA
