Elizabeth “Betty” Kinsella (Ford), age 82, of Scituate, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on the evening of September 13, 2018. She was the loving wife of 46 years to the late Kevin Barry Kinsella.
Born in Quincy, she was the only daughter of the late James and Mildred Ford. As an only child, Betty wanted nothing more than to have a large family of her own. After meeting Kevin, she quickly began to grow her family and devote her time and energy to them.
She was the devoted mother of her eight children; Nancy Littell and her husband Bill of Norwell, Susan Sullivan of Hanover, Joanne Ryder of Mashpee, Carole Kinsella of Keene, NH, Jane Mathews and her husband Ken of Scituate, Stephen Kinsella of Quincy, Sheila Conroy and her husband Chris of Marshfield, and Elizabeth Kinsella Feeley and her husband John of Scituate. She is also the cherished grandmother “Mimi” to her twelve grandchildren; Jessica, Sean, Brian, Katie, Paul, Tom, Caroline, Elizabeth, Fiona, Amelia, Georgia and Finbar.
Betty was a proud member of the first Archbishop Williams High School graduating class in 1953. Through the years she remained close with her “Archie’s” friends spending countless nights over dinner enjoying her close friendships.
Betty was also an active member of the St. Mary of the Nativity Parish in Scituate where she was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She will be missed terribly by her family and friends and will be remembered for generations to come.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Burial to follow at St. Mary of the Nativity Cemetery.
