Eleanor was born in Boston to Catherine Geezil (nee Ewing, Glasgow, Scotland) and William Geezil. She grew up in Dorchester and Brighton, eventually moving to Scituate in the late 70's. Ellie's fabulous Onset cottage was always a place for happy memories for her large extended family and six nieces and nephews. Always devoted to family, Ellie was the consummate host for all occasions from Christmas to birthdays with loud, noisy gatherings being the norm.
She spent her career as Senior Underwriter for John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston, making that daily P&B bus ride from Scituate for decades! Retirement was spent as a bookkeeper for Elk Glass in Scituate, participating in her local Elks Club events and enjoying the company of friends.
Eleanor is survived by her brother Robert, nephews and nieces David Geezil (Renee) of Londonderry, NH, Christopher Geezil (Stacey) of Plymouth, MA, Kevin Geezil of Carver, MA, Robert Geezil and Kim Lockwood (Brian) of Norwell, MA, and Richard Geezil of Weymouth, MA, as well as her very special companion Helen Butler of Randolph, MA. She is also survived by cousins Brian Fay of Quincy, MA, Nancy Fay and Janice DiPesa of Scituate, MA. Additionally, she leaves 14 great nephews and nieces. A special acknowledgement to her loving cousins from the UK; Mary Spencer, Charlotte Trainor, Catherine Ewing, Christine Bettridge, as well as Theresa Ewing of Ireland.
