Dunphy-Evelyn I. (Scofield) of Scituate, passed on August 30, 2010 age 82 after a brief illness. Loving wife of 58 years to James F. Dunphy. Evelyn was born and raised in New Britain, CT where she graduated from New Britain H.S. and attended Teacher’s College. She has been a Scituate resident since 1971. Evelyn loved music and to play piano. Devoted mother of Janice Dunphy of Scituate, Timothy of Revere, Carol Dunphy and Kevin both of Scituate. Grandmother of Shane Dunphy of Scituate. Aunt of Kathleen Sorrell. Sister of the late Elizabeth Byers. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10AM. Visiting hours 4-8PM Wednesday, interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
