Frank X. Pumphret

Frank grew up in Dorchester and went on to dedicate 40 years of his life to teaching in Scituate and Marshfield. His love of sports carried well beyond the classroom — for 35 years, he served as a high school football referee and also officiated girls' fast pitch softball and soccer.

Frank was known and loved for his warmth, generosity, and humor. He was an amazing storyteller and joke-teller, always ready to lighten a room. He had the kindest heart and was the kind of person who would always show up for friends and family, no matter what they needed. He was also a devoted animal lover, especially cherishing time spent walking his beloved dog around town.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Tara Pumphret, and his sister, Peg Amata of Old Lyme, CT. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joe and Jack, and his sister, Sister Ellen.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Nativity on Monday, August 17, at 10:00 a.m.
