

Genevieve Desmond (née Logue), a longtime resident of Scituate, MA passed away peacefully at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, surrounded by family, on December 19th, 2016. She was 93. Born and raised in the Boston area, she was educated at Boston Academy of Notre Dame and earned a B.S. in biology from Emmanuel College. She had summered in Scituate since childhood and moved permanently with her husband, John, in 1953. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Nativity where she and John were married in August of 1945.
Known to all as Gen, she was preceded in death by beloved husband, John, daughter, Loretta Connor, grandson, Jacob Desmond, sisters, Margaret Tighe and Loretto Hiney, and brothers Charles, Emmet, John, William, and Francis Logue.
She is survived by her children, John P. and wife Lola of San Antonio, TX; Edward C. Of Sharpsburg, GA; Robert T. and wife Alisa of Boca Raton, FL; Genevieve Petro of Arlington, VA; Philip T. and wife Janette of Portsmouth, NH. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., SCITUATE on December 23 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Visiting hours will take place on Thursday December 22 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Autism Speaks. (autism speaks.org).
