COOPER, Jr, Glenn- Of Summerville, SC and formerly of Scituate, MA passed away on September 19, 2026. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Glenn Sr. and June Cooper. Loving father of Janice Cousino, her husband Andrew of Hyde Park, MA and Glenn Cooper III, his wife Sarah of Roslindale, MA. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Elizabeth Mahan of Summerville, SC, and nephew Connor Mahan, and long time partner Liliana Guzman, of Hyde Park, MA.
Glenn lived his life in service to those around him. He was a proud father, a teacher, a tinkerer and he loved the sea. On weekends, Glenn could be found working on some new project at the house, whether it be redoing the shingles or prepping the boat for the season. Glenn loved to travel around the country and camp with Lily, and he was a caring owner of his two beautiful dogs, Maya and Emmie. He was a proud graduate of Boston Latin School.
Much of his career was spent working for the Boston Public Works department, eventually serving as the Manager of the Street Lighting division. One of his proudest achievements was pushing for the modernization of thousands of lights across the city to LEDs in the late 2000s, a visionary and forward thinking move that improved the lives of millions in the city he served. “A lit street is a safe street”. He brought light into the world for us all to bask in.
