

Helen M. (Sullivan) Happel, age 88, died peacefully, Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Life Care Center of the South Shore. She was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Class of 1941. She has lived in Scituate for fifty years and previously in Quincy. Helen was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. Former wife of the late John J. Happel. Devoted mother of Jacqueline Jackie Braga of Scituate, Paul J. Happel and his wife Susan, of Scituate and J. Michael Happel of Weymouth. Loving grandmother of Robert F. Braga of Chicago, IL, Lori Koelsch, John Happel, James Happel, Laura Jean Happel all of Scituate. Cherished great-grandmother of Emily and Joseph Koelsch. One of fifteen siblings she is survived by Evelyn Guiffre of Hingham, Virginia Goldberg of Newton, Ruth Sullivan of Milton, Joyce Glassman of FL, Marilyn Strachan of Pembroke and Gloria McNeeley of Hanover. She was predeceased by Betty LeClair, Barbara Simon, Phyllis Sweeney, Jack, Albert, Paul, John and Norma Sullivan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate on Thursday, March 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate Harbor at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held from 4 p.m. | 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th.
