

Hope Ellen Crowell, 93, longtime resident of Scituate, died peacefully at Cardigan Nursing Home on December 17, 2021 surrounded by family. Born to Gordon and Olga Billard, she was raised in Weymouth and attended Weymouth High School. Hope worked as a bank teller and avidly volunteered after retirement. Hope spent most of her time volunteering at the Scituate Food Pantry, as well as participating in service trips to Haiti with her church. Hope loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida and maintained a home in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hope was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frederick, as well as her sisters, Margaret Gifford and Jean Malerba. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Miller, and sons, Peter Crowell, Mark Crowell (wife, Elizabeth) and Paul Crowell (wife, Karen), as well as grandsons, P.J. Crowell and James Crowell, and granddaughters Coryn Coste, Sherrie Miller, Sarah Reardon, Suzanne Miller and Justine Crowell. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren. Visting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 from 9-10:30 AM at Richardson Gaffey Funeral Home in Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scituate Food Pantry.
