Janet A. Carroll

Janet A. (Finnegan) Carroll, 82, of Dorchester, formerly of Scituate, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 3, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Carroll, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice (Maloney) Finnegan. A graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge, she went on to earn her RN at Catherine Labouré School of Nursing in Dorchester and her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nursing from Boston College. She worked for over 3 decades as a Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean at Northeastern University.

Janet was the loving sister of Elaine A. Murphy and her husband Richard of Belmont. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews from the Carroll and Finnegan families.

Visitation at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, on Monday, August 7, 2017, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and travel in procession to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Nativity Church at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at nearby Union Cemetery.
