Janet L. Heger

March 19, 1934July 22, 2018

HEGER, Janet L.- Age 84, of Scituate, passed away July 22, 2018. She was the loving wife of 51 years to the late Paul F. Heger. Daughter of the late Alfred and Josephine Woods. Cherished mother to Susan Chessia, her husband Thomas of Scituate, Nancy Fagan, her husband Chick of Scituate and Michael Heger, his wife Susan of Scituate. Loving grandmother to Alexis, Richard, Chick, Craig, Sydney and Maya. Beloved great-grandmother to Ally, Finn, Harrison, Charlotte, Cecilia and Olivia. Janet may have been small in stature but her personality & contagious laugh were larger than life to all who knew her.

Affectionately referred to as “Ma” by family and friends, Janet truly embodied the role of matriarch. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Janet will be remembered by many. Whether she will be remembered for being a signature birthday stop at the St. Patrick’s Day parade, for her sweet smile beaming from the window of Dunkin Donuts in Scituate Harbor, or being a friend to all. Ma’s spirit & love will shine as bright as Minot’s Light. 1-4-3

So grateful that Janet and Sue visited me recently. She was as chipper as ever, saying wonderful things about me and my garden, enjoying a good laugh! She loved mischief and reveled in stories -- and was a great contributor! Always interested to know what was going on in my life. Will be sorely missed by all.

Dear Susan, Nancy, and Michael,

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your wonderful mother. I will never forget all the kindness she showed my mom, Connie. She was a very good woman and I know God will reward her.

Aunt Janet was such a kind and happy person to all us Heger kids from Dorchester. We had so much fun enjoying the pool and eating all the sausages at a few cookouts. Thanks Aunt Janet for letting me watch the Red Sox late 70,s early 80,s even when Uncle Paul told me they stink. Love from all the Dorchester Heger's

Sue and family, I remember every time that I visited, your mom would ask; who's car is that in your driveway? and to take it even further, she was afraid to pull in the driveway along side it! Just a very pleasant lady and always spoke with kind words. She'll be sadly missed by all". " May God hold her and keep her in the palm of his hand"
