Jeanne Mancusi-Ungaro Age 96, of Scituate, passed away on June 9, 2025. She was the loving daughter of Sophie and Stanley Zavistowski and was raised in the Polish section of Bloomfield, New Jersey. She lived a long life as a devout Catholic attending mass every day in the later years with her mother and filled her home with paintings of Jesus, statues of the blessed Mary and numerous angels.
She was well loved by her family and friends who she would greet with a big smile, love, laughter and a warm hug. She raised a large family of eight children along with her parents and was an endearing grandmother to eight grandchildren.
Jeanne loved living near the Jersey shore and brought that love to life with her passion as an artist painting watercolor seascapes and flowers, which she signed or encrypted with a small cross in many of those pieces.
Jeanne’s love of travel took her on wonderful journeys through Rome, Paris, Medjugorje and Austria, where she discovered her love for the flower Edelweiss and visited many fabulous sights and churches throughout Europe.
She loved her many dogs of which she fondly remembered as she shared stories of them with others.
Jeanne has left us all with a piece of her heart and many wonderful memories by having her in our lives. May she rest in eternal peace.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at 10am. Donations in her name may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter.
