Joanne Benn

Joanne had a lifelong commitment to helping individuals and organizations to provide quality services for young children. She had her PhD in Human Development, attending Penn State University, Teachers College and Michigan State University.

Joanne taught at Wheelock College, U Mass-Boston and Bridgewater State. She was a Director at S.S. Natural Science Center in Norwell, and a Director for National Assoc. for the Education of Young Children. The last 15 yrs of her career, she worked as an independent consultant primarily in preschool and early childhood education.

Joanne is also survived by her sister, Judy Cholger and her husband Herb of MI, sister-in-law Sarah Warren and her husband Chuck of MI, brother-in-law Peter Gibson and his wife Kathy of MD, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joanne had a great sense of humor, she was the love, joy and strength of her husband’s life.

Friends and Relatives are invited to attend memorial visiting hours on Monday, February 13th from 4PM to 7PM followed by a memorial funeral service at 7PM at Richardson Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.
