Joanne M. Connolly

Devoted wife of the late Paul F. Connolly. Beloved mother to Debra Connolly of Hingham, Lynda Ricciarelli and her late husband Steven of Scituate, and Susan (Blair) Carleton and her husband Sean of Scituate. Cherished grandmother to Justin Ricciarelli of Scituate, and Cathryn (Blair) Russ and her husband Garrett of North Kingstown, RI.

She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Carol Murray and her husband Thomas of Marshfield, Mary Connolly and her husband Gerard of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Colin McLean of Quincy, and her brother-in-law David Glasheen of Scituate, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joanne was predeceased by her sister Barbara Glasheen.

Daughter of the late Colin and Josephine (Snelders) McLean, Joanne was born and raised in Boston. She attended St. Matthews Parochial School in Dorchester and graduated high school from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton. She attended Bridgewater State University. After many years raising her family, she re-entered the workforce to join the United States Postal Service working at the Brockton Processing and Distribution Center for many years.

Joanne loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and traveling with her family and close friends. In retirement, Joanne and her husband Paul traveled internationally to Europe and Asia. In her spare time, there was nothing that Joanne enjoyed more than a good ball game, watching her favorite Boston sports teams. Every year, Joanne enjoyed hosting her loved ones at her home for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Joanne enjoyed keeping in touch with her all her loved ones. Her phone calls will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 3 pm -7 pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road Scituate, MA. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street Scituate, MA.
