Jon R. Hamilton

Hamilton, Jon R.- Age 79, of North Attleboro, MA and Dennis, MA, passed away on December 10, 2023 after a courageous battle with Myelodysplasia (MDS). Beloved husband of Mary C. (Heston) Hamilton. Son of the late Ralph and Lois (Cunningham) Hamilton.

Devoted father of Courtney H. Railton and her husband Bill Railton of Scituate, MA. Loving grandfather of Will, Caroline and Tess Railton of Scituate, MA, his true pride and joy.

Jon was raised in Medford, MA and graduated from Medford High School, Newman Prep and Northeastern University, Class of 1969.

He was a member of the Cummaquid Golf Club in Yarmouthport, MA and the Dennis Yacht Club, East Dennis, MA. He enjoyed his summers on Cape Cod and winters in Naples, FL. Jon was an avid reader, loved all genres of music and was a political guru. He had an unbelievable wit and spirit. In 1970 Jon embarked on a 53 year career in sales in the environmental industry, the last 40 years with C.N. Wood Co. of Woburn, MA. He led a full and beautiful life. He enjoyed all his grandchildren’s athletic events and was proud of their academic achievements.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:30am from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, MA.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, MA.
