Born and raised in Eatontown, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of the late William G. Wye and Nancy (Smith) Wolcott.
Devoted father of Barbara E. Wye of Burlington, MA.
He was the brother of Jeremy Wye of Scituate and the late Janet K. Simon. Loving companion of Debra Connolly of Scituate.
Jonathan attended high school at Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA and later Western College in Ohio. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard Business extension school. He worked in sales for many years and was also employed as a manager in the construction industry. He proudly managed projects and worked alongside others with Habitat for Humanity.
In more recent years, he managed family-owned rental properties and together with his brother Jeremy cared for their elderly mother during her final years. Since childhood, his true passion was sailing: a sport he could excel in despite his struggles with asthma. Jonathan was an avid reader, and a published author. He was also a skilled craftsman, creating a wooden spiral staircase for his home, fixing the rental properties after the blizzard of '78 and building sailboat for his daughter.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 19th at the Bar Rock Cottage, 74 Glades Road, Minot, MA. Relatives and close friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the MSPCA.
