Jose is survived by his loving daughter, Gilda Fontes and her husband John of Scituate. Cherished grandfather of Evangeline and Colette Fontes.
Beloved brother of Antonio Padua Fontes, Manuel Lourenco Fontes, Lino Camilo Fontes, Antonia Deodata Veiga, Natalia Ferreira Fontes, Oteldina Santos Andrade, Manuel Santos Fontes, Miguel Arcanjo Fontes, the late Aguinaldo Lopes and Ana Cruz Gomes Cardoso; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, Oct. 14th in the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate from 4pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s of the Nativity, 1 Kent St, Scituate on Wednesday, Oct. 15th at 10 am. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Scituate.
