KELLEY, Joseph E. of Scituate, on December 22, 2010. Joe was born in Boston, grew up in North Quincy and has lived in Scituate for the past 57 years. Joseph served in the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He received a Bronze Star for his bravery. Joe worked for the New England Telephone Co. for over 36 years as a lineman, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, long walks at the beach and saying the rosary while at the beach. He attended church every day and was a member of the Seaside Bocce Club in Plymouth. Joe had a special love for him many Labrador Retrievers.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Theresa (Steverman) Kelley. Loving father of Joanna Halleran of Quincy, Mary Beth Baker of Scituate, Joseph Kelley of Santa Cruiz, CA, John Kelley of Vacaville, CA, Theresa Richards of Scituate and the late Anna Kelley. Dear brother of Sr. Dorothy Kelley Sisters of the Good Shepherd of Harwich and the late Robert and Leo Kelley. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Nativity on Tuesday December 28th at 10AM. Interment to follow at Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to a charity of your choice.
