Karen L. Srabian

Born August 30, 1949 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Catherine (Lent) Caragulian. Karen attended Waltham public schools and later went on to secretarial school before continuing her education with various business and computer classes. She worked for Arkwright Insurance where she did policy underwriting. Later she worked at Panagora Assessment Management in Boston as an Executive Assistant. In recent years Karen retired to spend time with her family and travel.

After spending her very early years in Watertown, Karen lived the majority of her childhood and early adult life in Waltham MA. Later she moved to Scituate and found her perfect forever home. She loved living near the ocean and often walked along the coast. She also enjoyed dining out, planting flowers, knitting blankets, visiting with friends and family on her deck, and traveling to Maine, Las Vegas, Florida, and mostly Portland OR to visit her son. Karen was an avid reader and loved to discuss her latest book. She was a regular at the Scituate Library.

Karen was married to Salvatore J Picone of Waltham where they welcomed two children. Years later, she married the late Donald Srabian of Watertown MA. Presently Karen was happily residing with her devoted partner Jeffrey Freitas at their home in Scituate.

Beloved mother of Gina M (Picone) Steele of Scituate and Jason M Picone of Portland Oregon. She was the devoted grandmother of Samuel D Steele, Catherine M Steele, and Jane P Steele.

Sister of Leon Caragulian of Waltham and the late Bernice Lang, Janet Evans, and Elaine Baker. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held from Noon to 2PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, followed by a Prayer service beginning at 2PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
