MOSCA, Lois Marie (Santoro) – 72, of Marshfield, formerly of Scituate, passed away on the evening of October 12, 2018 at South Shore Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard Mosca, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Malden on July 27, 1946, she was the only daughter of the late Alfred and Julia (Mazzone) Santoro. She worked as a Spanish Teacher alongside her husband at Weymouth High School for 36 years and often mentored young teachers. She was very active in her church community, particularly as a choir member and cantor at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate and more recently Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Marshfield. Aside from her formal education, Lois was an expert in the “Grandma Arts” and was an avid seamstress, knitter and quilter – leaving behind her handmade creations for most of her family members. She was an excellent baker and also enjoyed scrapbooking with her grandkids.
She was the devoted mother of Richard A. Mosca and his wife Kristine of Marshfield and the cherished “Nonni” of Madison, Richard Charles, Paige and Lincoln.
Funeral from Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 9 AM with a procession to a funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
