
STOUT, Marguerite T. (Trimmer) of Scituate, MA passed away peacefully on May 5, 2011 at the age of 86 at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham. Raised in Hackettstown, NJ, the only child of Abbie (Sharp) and Anthony Trimmer, she graduated Centenary College there in 1944. Marguerite married Gilbert M. Stout, also of Hackettstown, in 1946 and lived in Bloomfield, Florham Park and Chatham, NJ before relocating to Scituate.
Marguerite will be best remembered for her considerable singing talent and love of music. She was a soprano soloist with church and regional choirs, and a long term subscriber of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She could jitterbug with the best of them, and enjoyed an aggressive tennis game. A member of the Scituate Garden Club and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, she cherished all things cultural and beautiful. She was also a loyal congregant and committee member at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church since moving to Scituate.
Marguerite is survived by her loving husband, Gilbert, also at Queen Anne Nursing Home, son Jeffrey G. Stout and his wife Christie of Scituate, daughter Sharyn E. Turner and her husband Ronald of Kernersville, NC, daughter Carol T. Stout and her husband Randall Gabrielan of Middletown, NJ, and her beloved grandson, Major Andrew Martin Turner and fiancée, Kathleen Novak.
Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 9th from 5PM to 8PM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate. A funeral service will be celebrated in the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, 381 Country Way, Scituate on Tuesday, May 10th at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Norwell VNA in her memory are welcomed. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ.
