Marion L. (Dowd) Duffey – 92, of Scituate passed away peacefully on the morning of July 14, 2022 at the Cardigan Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late George (Buddy) Duffey, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage before his passing in 1997.
Marion, also known as Mimi to her nieces and nephews, was always upbeat and witty. She stayed positive and would always entertain folks with her long memory and great stories.
Born in Scituate, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Turner) Dowd.
She was the devoted mother of George Duffey of Cambridge, MD, and Debbie Shannon of Cary, NC.
Cherished grandmother to Spencer Duffey and Jessica Duffey, and great-grandchildren, Sadie Jane and Michael.
Loving sister of Peter Dowd of Marshfield, Billy Dowd of Scituate, Ret. Gy. Sgt Helen (Sis) Dowd of Scituate, and pre-deceased by Teresa (DeeDee) Dowd-Collins and Patty Dowd-Galligan.
Visitation will take place Friday, July 22, 2022 from 2-4 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA followed by a funeral home service at 4 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
