Mark grew up the youngest of 12 children near Mann Hill beach in Scituate, MA. Mark was always surrounded by loving family and friends. Despite his disabilities, Marky gave us all a tremendous gift of unconditional love.
Mark participated in the Special Olympics most of his life beginning as a young child. He won numerous metals in track and field events, He especially enjoyed the softball throw and the running events. Growing up Mark was taller and stronger than most, but his big hugs or pats on the head were surprisingly gentle. At birthdays, weddings, or holidays gathering Mark would light up to welcome friends and the extended family with his big smile.
He enjoyed life, his colorful artwork first covered the fridge and soon became framed artwork in our homes. Mark was a huge Archie Bunker fan and also loved the radio, he would tune to stations across the dial, and it was not always country music, but that was his favorite. Trips to the Berkshires and Florida where special for Mark, he swam in the pool, and even steered the big boat out at sea. In his later years, Mark lived in Weymouth at a wonderful group home, he participated in daily work programs and came home to Scituate on the weekends.
Mark was the best son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend that anyone could every ask for. He laughed with us and he cried with us. His purity, innocence, caring and vibrance will stay with us forever. A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 2pm - 5pm at Richardson - Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, Ma.

We are saddened by the passing of one of our greatest loving brother here at main st program with Vinfen. You were a brother with a big heart, big smile and you loved all of us no matter what. We remember the many times you called on mum, "my mummy, my mummy" with a brightness in your face and with big eyes. The love you had for your mum was undeniable and it will live forever in our memories.
On behalf of the whole organization and your brothers (housemates), have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family of Mark Adams.
To the family of Mark we are here for you, for the support you may need now and days, years ahead.
Our Marky rest in peace till we meet again in paradise.

Our deepest sympathy is with you
In your time of grief —
We pray you'll sense God's presence
And find in Him, peace…
God's with you in this time of loss
With love to comfort you
And as He holds you in His arms,
His peace will gently soothe.
His healing presence will carry you,
When, at times, it gets too tough
And as He wipes away each tear,
Rest in His abiding love.

Dear Adams family,
I am shocked and heartbroken to hear of the loss of Marky. A purer soul never lived. I will always remember how his big smile and huge brown eyes would light up when he saw me, having known Marky since he was about 4 years old I always felt he was like the little brother I never had, but I settled for him being a very dear much loved friend. I loved him so much. I am sure he is in Heaven sharing a huge lasagna with Dad, Auntie Jo and the many family and friends who loved him. All my love and prayers to you all.

I remember Mark as an accomplished Special Olympics (SO) Athlete who acquired many accomplishments via medals 🏅 in softball throw and track walk/ run events. His teammates loved💕 him and his ability to gain team points was always underestimated, but greatly appreciated. Mark attended SO events always surrounded by his loving family that gave an extra hand to ensure teammates were successful.
Mark will be missed.
