SACHS, Melissa Raye - 71, of Scituate, formerly of Boston passed away after an illness on the evening of April 15, 2021. She was the beloved wife of nearly 40 years to Paul Pinnetti.

Born and raised in New Bedford, Melissa was the daughter of the late James and Estelle (Rosenfeld) Sachs. She was a 1968 graduate of New Bedford High School and recently attended her 50th High School Reunion. She earned college credit from Bristol Community College and went on to a lengthy career as a paralegal as a valued member of Attorney David Wylie in Boston. She was proud of her work, often pointing out various real estate properties that she had been involved with over the course of her employment as she drove through the city with her husband.

She met Paul in 1980, married shortly thereafter, though the couple's commitment was evident immediately. They lived in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood for some time before moving to Scituate in 1993 and enjoyed over 40 years of loving companionship. Melissa loved being outdoors, walking through the woods or on the beach and visiting Nantucket. She was a voracious reader and as of late, particularly enjoyed novels by Elin Hilderbrand as they were often set in her cherished Nantucket.

She was the devoted sister of Ilene Sachs of Boston, Steven Sachs and his companion Jo Ann Cabral of New Bedford, Scott Sachs and his wife Amy of Washington, NC, Franna Boyce of Boston (deceased). Sister-in-law of Jacqueline Balboni and her companion Roy MacDonald of Plymouth and Pat Pinnetti and his wife Suzanne of Plymouth. She was the loving aunt to Elissa Sachs, Maggie Sachs, Joe Pinnetti and Trysha Mackay.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Tifereth Israel, 145 Brownell Ave, New Bedford.

I first met Paul and Melissa six years ago when my wife and I first moved to Scituate. I would stop by their home regularly and we would sit on the porch, pass away the time with warm conversation. Melissa had a great sense of humor and was a pleasure to be around. I will always remember her warm smile, and friendship. I will miss Melissa very much...Kevin

Melissa was one of our oldest friends going back to our Jamaica Plain days together when Alan and Paul lived together. In fact, we introduced Paul and Melissa at a house party. We shared many days at the beach together, as the beach was where she was most at home. Melissa was warm and generous, with an easy laugh. She was beautiful both inside and out. Her devotion to Paul and to her work were examples of her caring spirit, her dedication to others, and her gentle ways. Dear friend - you shall be missed.

My family and the Sachs family grew up together, living across the street from each other in New Bedford, MA from pre elementary school through all nine of our high school graduations! Melissa and her four siblings were completely woven into the fabric of the Cohen Family having every major holiday meal at our house and spending more days every summer at the beach or blueberry picking than I could ever count. Melissa is like a sister to me and we have kept in touch through the years. My Mom, her Auntie Helen, passed away last March at age 99 and loved Melissa like a daughter. She would have been so devastated to hear of Melissa's passing which was just much too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with Paul and the Sachs family at this very sad time.

Melissa was the most warm hearted, kind and generous person I have known. She was devoted to her family and friends. She loved Paul most of all and she is gone much too soon.
