

Michael “Mike” Twohig, 59, of Scituate, Ma passed away suddenly on June 14,2025. He was surrounded by family at South Shore Hospital. Mike was born on September 12, 1965 in Rugby, England before moving back to Ireland as an infant.
He is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Harding) Twohig, of Scituate, stepson Sean Jacobsen and his wife Jessy, of Austin, Tx. Mike was predeceased by his first wife, Colleen (Lynch) Twohig and survived by their children and spouses, Micaela and her husband Sean O'Brien of North Attleborough and Casey and Allison Twohig of Walpole.
His grandchildren were his greatest happiness and the legacy he leaves behind. Aidean, Eleanor, Maeve, and Braeden.
Michael is also survived by his father, Michael Twohig of Ballinhasig, and in-laws George and Beverly Lynch of Kennebunkport, Me. Mike was raised in Ballinhassig, county Cork, Ireland by his parents, Michael and Kathleen ( Hutchinson) Twohig. One of eight, Mike or better known then as “Mic” grew up alongside his siblings Kevin, Finbarr, Fionnuala (Dineen), Mairead (Butler), Victor, Brendan and Sinead (Foley). Their home was filled with relentless banter and traditions that were deeply valued. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
After immigrating to Boston in 1987, Mike owned and operated his own Fire Sprinkler company, Cork Fire Protection of which he was immensely proud. After retiring to Scituate, Mike loved enjoying the Irish Culture of the South Shore. Mike liked to say if he couldn’t be back in his native Ireland then there was no better place for him than the most “Irish Town in America”. He spent his time working on projects, spending time with his dogs (The Lads) Mac and Fergus, and constant companion Buddy the cat. He looked forward to the grandchildren visiting , his new found love of traveling and trying new adventures like snorkeling and parasailing. His humor and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Michael on Sunday June 22, 2025 from 3-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home , 382 First Parish Road Scituate MA 02066. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday June 23, 2025 at 10am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 10 Summer St, Cohasset, MA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
