

Nanette Grace Taska, of Plymouth, passed away on October 11, 2017. Nanette was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 7, 1947 to John Anton Taska and Grace Louise Taska (Collins). Free-spirited and personable from the start, Nan charmed family and friends. Favored with a good heart and sweetness of nature, Nan will be mourned by those who knew her.
Nan graduated from Scituate High School, Scituate, MA. Her first job at New England Merchants’ Bank was to market the “new concept” of a credit card to businesses on the South Shore and the Cape. She also worked as a real estate broker and at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant in Plymouth. After graduating from Computer School, she became a Programmer for Hit or Miss. Twenty years ago, Nan left the corporate world behind.
A dog lover all her life, she became the best pet sitter on the South Shore. Her love of the Boston Terrier breed led her to a succession of well-loved terriers: Heather, Buddy, Johnnie, a Bronze Grand Champion, and his mother, Gracie, a Grand Champion as well, who was shown at the 2007 Westminster Dog Show. She loved cooking, skiing, socializing with friends, traveling, and visiting with her beloved Mother and Father. Nan was predeceased by her parents.
She leaves behind her beloved sister, Barbara Taska Cook Bauer and her husband Thomas J. Bauer of Duxbury, her nephew, Michael S. Cook of Boston and niece, Amy E. Cook of Scituate, and her grandnephew, John Michael Cook II and Sarah Cook, John’s mother, both from Hingham.
