Paul Scarpino

Paul Scarpino Jr. (Buddy), 85, of Scituate, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 20, 2023. Paul was born in Greenwich, CT as the first new year’s baby on January 1, 1938, son of Paul and Mary Scarpino.

He grew up in Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School, Bridgeport University and BU Law School/New England Law School.

He met his wife, Frances, of 62 years, in Boston while they were both living on Beacon Hill. Paul worked for the IRS as an Estate and Gift Tax attorney for 40 years. After his IRS retirement, he continued to work until the age of 82 as a contractor for the US Government.

Paul is survived by Frances, his two sons, Mike and his wife Peri of Hampton NH, Paul and his wife Melisa of Holbrook MA and his daughter Christene and her husband Chris of Sausalito CA, and grandchildren Matthew, Jake, Sam, and Kit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary, and his sister Joann.

Paul, also known as Buddy, was a life-long golfer and most recently a member of the senior golf league at Widow’s Walk. Buddy spent many weekends at Humarock Beach. He was also a devout fan of the Yankees even when living in Red Sox nation. His love of rock and roll from the 1960’s brought him to many concerts over the years. Never to turn away from a hug, a laugh and a conversation, Buddy loved spending time with friends and family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30am, preceded by accepting of friends and family from 10 to 11:30 on Thursday, October 26, at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road in Scituate, MA.
