Pauline A. (White) Fallon “Polly”, 95, of Scituate, passed away on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was married to the late George Marvin Fallon, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, before his passing in 1998.
Polly was born in Hanover, MA, to the late John H. and Ruth A. (Mann) White. She was raised and educated in Hanover, graduating in 1948. Prior to marrying Marvin and settling in Scituate, Polly worked at John Hancock in Boston. Thereafter, Polly stayed home to raise their children. She would proudly and “enthusiastically” attend all school sporting events, concerts, Science Fairs, Boy and Girl Scout activities and outings. Pinewood Derby comes to mind. In her later years, she became an avid reader and Red Sox fan, never missing a game.
Polly always said how proud she was of all her children: Christopher J. Fallon, Amanda R. Fallon, Paul M. Fallon, and Rebecca and her husband Dana Blackman (whom she loved as one of her own). She instilled in them a strong sense of honesty, integrity, love, and laughter.
Polly loved, to pieces, her grandchildren Kathryn, Nicholas, Tyler, Emily, and John and enjoyed hearing about what was going on in each of their lives.
You may be surprised to read that Polly never liked to be the center of attention. No celebrations were to be had in her honor; but of course, we would not listen and fun was always had by all…and in typical Polly fashion; you’d hear her before you’d see her. I think what most loved about her...her love of her family and friends and of happiness and laughter.
Polly was much loved by her many friends some of whom she'd known since her early years and some of whom she made at the “pool”. She treasured each and every one.
Polly was the sister to her late siblings Ellen L. White, John L. White, and Mary F. Sides.
Polly leaves behind her nephews and niece and their spouses, Nathaniel and his wife Janet Sides, Jonathan and his wife Donna Sides, William and his wife Janet Sides and Melanie and her husband William Campia, along with many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in remembering Polly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA 02066. A Service to celebrate Polly’s life will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Hanover, 580 Webster Street, Hanover, MA 02339. Interment will follow at Cudworth Cemetery, Cudworth Road, Scituate, MA 02066. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at South Shore Hospital and at the Norwell Visiting Nurses Association (NVNA), who cared for our mother, for their compassion and patience. Their exceptional care meant the world to us.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s memory can be made to the Norwell VNA or to a charity that has special meaning for you.
