

RUZZANO, Roberta — Age 88, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the Cardigan Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Dorchester, Roberta “Bea” later made Scituate her home, where she spent the last 60 years raising her family, welcoming everyone with warmth, laughter, and love.
She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony Ruzzano. Daughter of the late Robert and Flora Vogel. Cherished mother of Robin Roberts, her husband Rich of Pembroke, Diane Sweeney, her husband Tom of Rockland and Donna Lehane, her husband David of Scituate. Beloved grandmother to Katie Bailey, her husband Sean of Rockland, Meghan Thomas, her husband Ryan of Braintree and the late Baby Frances and great grandmother to Addison, Samantha, Jake and Connor. Loving sister of Jean Munsey of Arlington, Robert Vogel, his wife Jan of Dedham and Dianne Munsey, her husband Jim of Arlington as well as many nieces and nephews
To Bea, family was everything. She always put her loved ones first and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. Her kitchen was the heart of the family, filled with the smells of her famous meatballs, homemade Italian cookies, and meals made with endless love. She welcomed everyone with open arms, treating friends like family and making all feel at home the moment they walked through her door.
Roberta also had a playful spirit and loved pulling a good prank, always keeping those around her laughing. She took great pride in her beautiful home and garden, keeping everything just so with the same care and love she gave to her family. Her warmth, strength, humor, and traditions will be missed deeply every single day.
A visitation will take place on Monday May 18, 2026 from 3-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2026 at 10am from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beacon Hospice or to Cardigan Nursing Home who took excellent care of Bea over the last four years.
