They spent many beautiful winters on Marco Island in Florida. Other trips they cherished included Ireland, Bermuda, Hawaii, Alaska, British Columbia, New Zealand, Australia, the Mediterranean and all over Europe. They took their children camping every summer, often with Margie's sister Ginny's family. Large family gatherings in Vermont with her sister, Yvonne Frates were frequent and always full of adventure. A deeply committed grandmother, she never missed a school event, recital, concert, or sporting event. Margie loved children and was an active member of the Scituate community as a CCD teacher, Cub Scout leader and Girl Scout leader. In high school Margie played field hockey and basketball and later in life, enjoyed years of golf with Jim and her friends at Scituate Country Club. She enjoyed working both at Scituate High School and in the Cohasset Public Schools. Several years ago, Margie moved to Armbrook Village, an Assisted Living Facility in Westfield, Massachusetts to be closer to two of her daughters.
Margie was predeceased by her loving Husband Jim Travers; they shared 44 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister Yvonne Frates and her husband Norman Frates.
