Son of Michael Cavanaugh, County Kerry Ireland and Hannah McManus, Roscommon, Ireland. Formally from Jamaica Plain and Cohasset. Tom was born in Boston, graduated from Boston English High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was self-employed as a general contractor and worked on projects all over Eastern MA.
Tom was pre-deceased by his sister Mary Weir of Rockport and his brother Edward Cavanaugh of Boston.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Constance of Scituate, sons John of Lowell, MA and Stephen of Los Angeles, CA, daughters Sheilah Colpoys and her husband Bill of Hingham and Lisa and husband Stephen Donovan of Scituate. Also 9 dear and beloved grandchildren.
Funeral visiting hours are Thursday June 4th 4:00-6:00 at Richardson Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd. Scituate
