

Thomas E. Nash - 93 of Scituate, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Mavis (Perry) Nash, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. Born in North Dighton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Ida (Martell) Nash.
Tom left Brockton High School at age seventeen to enlist in the USAF and he served during the Korean War era. Following completion of his military service, he returned to BHS to earn his diploma. Mr. Nash was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeastern University and a Masters Degree from Boston State College. He was a Brockton High School teacher for over two decades during which time he also served as the sole faculty member of the Mayor's Advisory Committee for Construction of the new Brockton High School.
Tom had an avid interest in politics and while on leave from his teaching position, he served on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Aide in Washington DC to a former Massachusetts Member of Congress. He also was an aide on Beacon Hill to a Massachusetts State Senator. As a Scituate resident, he served on the Traffic Rules and Regulations Committee during his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his step-sons, David Wallis of Lowell, MA, Jeffrey Wallis of Attleboro, MA, Gary Wallis and his wife, Kathleen, of Franklin, MA, and his step-grandchildren, John Burke of Longview, TX, Brianna Burke of Weymouth, MA and Gavin and Kiley Wallis of Franklin, MA.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, from 10-12 PM followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 12 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.
