Mrs. Howe was a retired school librarian. She was a graduate of Scituate High School and the University of South Florida. Virginia was an avid reader and participant in a writing group in West Chester.
Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Howe and her husband Frank C. Howe. She was also preceded in death by her sister Rosemary Mee of Scituate and her brother Edmund Fortier of Cohasset. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 9-9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Burial to take place privately.
