Wilbur Cole

11:23 pm, surrounded by his loving family. Joe is survived by Dorothy (Whitney) Cole,

devoted wife of 63 years, children David Cole and wife Evelyn of Merrill, WI, Steven

Cole and wife Michele of Whitman, MA, Sandy Cole and partner Doug Kunitake of

Londonderry, NH, cherished grandchildren, Chris Cole of Duxbury, MA, Alyssa, Julia

and Brian Frechette of Londonderry, NH, and dear sister Gertrude Allison of Ludlow,

MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and several adoring canines,

Kailey, Norman and Taylor.

Joe was born in Three Rivers, MA on April 23, 1926, to Isaac and Elizabeth (Sinclair)

Cole, who were born in Ireland. He was the youngest of eight children, and a WWII

Veteran.

His 45 year railroad career brought promotions that took the family to several states,

eventually returning to Massachusetts. His beautiful tenor voice was enjoyed by many

in church, at social gatherings, and weddings. An avid golfer, he enjoyed many hours

on the links with family and friends.

Joe was a gentle soul with a tremendous sense of humor. Above all else, it was Joe’s

love and commitment to family that was his greatest passion. His greatest joy in his

later years was his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will always be

with those he loved.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan 30th at 10am-12pm in the United Church of

Christ, 460 Main St., Norwell, MA, followed by a memorial service at 12pm. A reception

will follow.
