Alfred E. “Fred” Scheibe, 74 of Gering, died Saturday, October 13, 2007, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory with private inurnment at a later date. Friends may visit at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday. A memorial has been established in care of the family. Alfred was born November 30, 1932, at Berlin, Germany to Alfred and Matilda Scheibe. He received his education in Germany. On August 27, 1959, he married Betti Eiche at Berlin. They made their home in Gering after coming to the United States in 1969. He worked at Lockwood Corporation for 25 years as at tool and die maker and retired from there. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betti Scheibe; sisters, Vera Trouse and Hamelon Scheibe both of Germany; nephew, Gunther (Dorothy) Koob; and great-nephews, Greg, Doug and Tim Koob. He was preceded in death by his parents.
