

Betty Sue Keller, 63, of Minatare, died Monday, December 8, 2008 at her home. Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Interment will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday. Betty was born July 17, 1945 in Springdale, Arkansas to John Connie and Minnie “Mickie” Alice (Guyll) McClung. She grew up and received her education in the area around Springdale. She came to the Scottsbluff area in 1979. She owned and operated Susie’s Café in Lyman and later worked at Dalton’s and Reganis Auto Center for fifteen years. Betty married LaVerne Keller April 5, 1985 in Scottsbluff. Betty loved to sing, and square dance. She loved sewing, crocheting, quilting, was a seamstress and outstanding cook. She made her daughter’s wedding dresses and wedding flowers for her children. She was an author of children’s books and had several poems published. She was a member of the Panhandle Country Music Association She is survived by her father John Connie McClung of Springdale, Ark., children: Tammie S. (LeRoy) Leiurance, Torrington, WY, Willis E. (Maureen Anne Snow) Tygart, Scottsbluff, NE, John V. Tygart, Minatare, NE and Michelle D. (Jade) Aufdengarten, Rapid City, SD; sister: Linda Russell, Springdale, Ark., Brother: John C. (Gayle) McClung, Jones, OK; stepchildren: Lonnie Keller and Cheryl (Carson) Bentley; stepsisters: Sharon Allen, Ponca City, OK, and Shirley Myers, Fort Scott, KS; stepbrother: Danny McDonald of Tennessee and 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, husband, infant brother Larry and stepfather Robert Mauck.
