

William D. “Bill” Leffler 81, of Scottsbluff, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at The Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. At Bill’s request casual attire is suggested. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to the Nebraska Children’s Home and Prairie Haven Hospice. Bill was born August 15, 1928, in Grafton Nebraska, to Selar and Clara (Nelson) Leffler. He graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1946. He listed in to the United States Air Force on September 13, 1950 and served in: Korea, Guam, Japan and the United States, until his honorable discharge on September 12, 1954. During his time in the Air Force he completed 28 weeks of H.S. Radio Operators training in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey and earned the following Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and U. N. Service Medal. He married Betty Enders on September 18, 1955, in Ainsworth, Nebraska at the First Congregational Church. To this reunion he and Betty adopted 3 children Bradley, Brian and Shari. He worked for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) for 41 years. During this time he worked in Grand Island, Nebraska, Dillon, Montana, Manhattan, Kansas and Scottsbluff, Nebraska, upon his retirement he then worked for Sears, and Regional West Medical Center, as a lab courier. Bill enjoyed golf, and watching any sport on TV. He also enjoyed any time he could spend with his two grandchildren Michael and Amanda. Teaching them to drive the golf cart or reviewing math problems. He is survived by his wife Betty of Scottsbluff; sons Bradley Leffler of Moscow, Russia and Brian and wife Cyndi Leffler, of Edgewater, CO; daughter Shari Brown of Loveland, CO; two grandchildren Michael Brown of Longmont, CO and Amanda Brown of Loveland, CO; and sister Bonnie Clark of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Leffler, and sister Maxine Mintling.
