Sorry to hear of the passing of Bob, May you find comfort with each passing day! Bob was a great guy he was always helpful when I would walk in to Coop . I also remember the country club Christmas parties Oh boy look out when you would get Norman Ott and Bob together they were absolutely hilarious. I am blessed that i got to know him. Deb Engler

I have many memories of Bob. Our 45 year friendship started in 1977 when he came to work at Panhandle Coop. I had the pleasure of working with Bob for nearly 30 years. I would not be where I am today without him "taking me under his wing". We spent a lot of time on the golf course together. One of his favorite sayings was " I would rather be lucky than good". There were some shots that were lucky but honestly, there were many shots that were good. Such is golf! So Bob, save me a spot on your foursome! The next time we play, we won't have to be luck because we will all be good! First and foremost, Bob was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and to me and my family, a great friend. As well as many others. All of us gathered here today should consider ourselves lucky to have been a part of Bob's life. On a lighter note - Let's not forget Sharon's favorite car (not the 57 Chevy) the 60's Nova with bucket seats (5 gallon buckets upside down) and not trunk lid! Sorry Mama Koch, I just had to throw that in! Sincerely, Greg West

Uncle Bobby-aka "Leroy Brown" - Oh how I am going to miss you. You always knew how to put a smile on my face with your quirky humor and storytelling. I will never forget our golf outings and how you always gave everyone in our group a "morning" ball, and seemed to take yours and everyone else's - haha. Your idea of a gimmie and mine were totally different but I always let you have that long putt even though you only allowed me a gimmie if mine was a tap in. You were an awesome teacher on the golf course, providing with LOTS of tips to better my game. I enjoyed all the time we spent together whether it was on the golf course, talking about our beloved Huskers, and dinners and holidays we had together, especially when you lived 10 minutes away. As you used to say, Leroy Brown has arrived, and I knew it was going to be a good day! Thanks for all the countless memories, I will cherish them forever. Love ya - Kathy Jo

Uncle Bob was not just my uncle but also my Godfather. I remember when I was in high school and somehow managed to get a job at Coop without ever applying. I was supposed to be applying for jobs but just hadn't gotten around to it and didn't want to bother Uncle Bob to help me. I got a call from the front office at Coop one day asking me to please come in and fill out an application because I had been hired and they didn't have anything on file for me. He somehow made it happen for me without me having to even ask. He would come seek me out here and there while I was working there and he always told whoever we were talking to or when he introduced me to someone he knew that he was "The Godfather"! Then he would say "see you later sweetie", give that great big grin he always had, and left me with a kiss and hug. It was always that way when we saw each other, it didn't really matter where we were, it was just part of our routine. When Dan and I were going to be married, he and Aunt Sharon took us to a special dinner, told us how proud they were of us, and that we would always have their love and support. That never faltered throughout our lives. He would always check in on us, even when they retired and came back to visit or when they moved to Arizona and I was there to visit. No matter what, our goodbyes always ended with his great big grin, hugs and kisses, and usually a reminder that he was "The Godfather". this is what I will always remember about him, and what I will definitely miss the most. Dan & Tammy

Some of my fondest memories of my brother Bob are at Christmas time. After my parents passed away, Bob took me under his angel wing and always made sure I had a place to be at Christmas. Celebrating Christmas with Bob, Sharon, and the kids was always a wonderful time. Bob was so kind, generous, and caring of me. Bob became my guiding light, protector, and comforted me in times of trouble. I will never forget him and will always watch over his family Sharon, Jason, and Julie like bob watched over me. I know bob is in heaven and will miss him dearly. Love always, your baby sister Karen.

Bob and I would go hunting alot. There was this one time Bob and I went down to Bayard hunting on the river. Bob parked the car we got out and put our breast waders on. The ducks and geese were starting to fly down the river. Bob and I hurried and put our waders on and started across the river. The river had several channels and islands. We had walked across one channel onto an island and walked to another channel between two islands. We started across the channel and was just about across and went into a deep hole along the bank. I started to float down the river along the bank. As I was reaching for some branches hanging out over the bank, Bob grabbed me and I went under the water. The river was over our heads. We both got soaked. Needless to say our hunting was over. Bob and I started to make our way back to the car. When we finally made it to the car (it seemed like forever to get to the car) we started taking our waders off and they were full of water. It was a nice crisp morning at about 10 degrees (boy did that feel good). We dumped our waders and stripped as the car was running to warm up. We stripped to our underwear, got into the car, and drove back to town. Jim

Growing up with Bob was a fun and happy time, we had each other. We did everything together from biking to having a baker and making mud donuts and twists. We really worked hard to have the best bakery even though there was only the two of us. When we were in grade school one of the local hardware stores was giving baby chickens away at Easter. Our grandpa came and took Bob and me to get some free baby chickens. They were even colored blue, pink, green, and so cute. Bob and I were so excited and happy. Our dad got a id cardboard box to keep them in until we could put them outside. In the fall it was starting to get cold. We had returned to school and hurried home every day after school to see our chickens. One day they were gone and our mom said "they ran away". That Sunday our grandpa and grandma came for dinner and we had delicious fried chicken. Our grandma said "are these your chickens" to our mom. Mom was shaking her head no but we knew then what happened. Bob was my best friend growing up and through out our lives we always had a special bond. I will really miss him. With love, your big sister Fran.

I was 9 years old when Bob was born. When he was about 7 or 8 months old it was my job to watch him. I would put him in the stroller and push him where ever we were playing. He must have been a good baby because I don't remember him crying. Only when I had to go home and change his diaper using those big safety pins and sometimes I would stick him but he would always put his arms around my neck and give me a kiss. I loved him like a son. I cried when he got married. There are so many good memories. We are a very loving family. Bob was a very loving person. He loved doing things for family and friends. God bless all of us. Love you, Norma

My grandpa meant so much to me. He was always able to put a smile on my face whether it was with jokes or his stories. One of my favorite memories with him was reading the comics in the newspaper with him. We used to sit at the table just cracking up and laughing so hard reading them. Reading the comics with him was something I always looked forward to when he was around. I love you forever and always. Jess

Favorites memories with grandpa - the man that got me into the miserable but awesome game of golf. Riding in his personal cart that they kept at the country club was always a joy to me. I thought it was the coolest thing that he had his own cart that was kept at the course. he had a lot of un on the golf course and I still love the game now. JR

Grandpa - I was asked to share some memories that I have of you but I have so many I'm not sure where to start. My favorite memory of all was at my wedding. The dollar dance was about to start when you and grandma called me over. You said I want to give you money towards your hooneymoon but I don't dance anymore. However you did end up dancing with me that night and I will forever cherish that dance. My next memory is from high school. Everyday I would call grandpa between morning classes and he would ask me two questions: What do you want for lunch and how many friends will be with you. He would then go to the store and buy what he needed to make me lunch. I always enjoyed eating lunch with him. Five years ago mom, Tucker, and I took a trip to Arizona. Tucker being just three years old loved the golf cart rides. It didn't matter how many rides or when he wanted to go grandpa was always ready. One more of my favorite memories was when he and grandma stopped to visit us on their way to Canada. Grandpa mowed so much we thought he wore the mower out, but he just kept mowing until the whole yard was done. I will greatly miss seeing his face light up when he would see my kids and hearing our boys say papa Bob. You will be missed so much grandpa. Love, Sara

Bob meant the world to me. Unbeknownst to him, he filled a void in my heart and took on a role that had been absent for many years. He took me under his wing and love me as his own. For that I am forever grateful. I love you, Jen

Dad - the best four words I can use to describe you are: Hard working, Persistent, High Integrity, and Moral Character. You taught me at a very early age that hard work was one of the most important things you can do your yourself, family, and friends. I remember countless hours helping you pour cement, finishing our house in the country, and assisting friends with replacing roofs. You never asked for anything in return when you helped your friends and the respect that I had of you for doing that continues in me today. You taught me that golf is just a game. Despite how frustrated I got with poor shots, you always told me to relax and enjoy the game. Now that didn't mean you would ever let me beat you! The unconditional love that you showed to our children JR and Jessica is hard to explain. Despite oftentimes living thousands of miles away from you, you and mom always told us how much you loved us and our children. I hope I am the husband, father, and friend that you wished for me to grown into. I'm glad that you were alive long enough to see the successes - and oftentimes failures. No matter what the outcome was you always had a lesson. I'm sad God decided to take you but I'm so glad you are no longer in pain. Tell Norm hello for us and no gimmees outside of the rubber! We will see you in Heaven. Jason

Things my dad taught me: Work hard - growing up my dad worked 2 jobs at times - his 2nd job was usually pouring cement. We spent countless hours pouring cement at Clemens trailer court. I was his gopher getting the chalk line or helping move the forms. The reward when it was done was a new boat. We spent summers camping & boating with family and friends - mostly Uncle Sonny and Aunt Ruby. My dad taught us to ski and sometimes we got to sit on his lap and help steer the boat. Anyone who knew my dad would tell you he was a perfectionist, especially with his car. Love with all your heart - my dad loved his family, especially my mom. Every Valentine's day dad would buy mom and I a heart with chocolates and mom would get flowers. He would always get her yellow roses. I know my dad loved me but when Brock & Sara were born I saw an unconditional love for them. Brock spent many hours golfing with dad & Sara would call him in high school and tell him how many of her friends were going to come for lunch and what they wanted and of course he would buy them everything. Always read the grocery ads - my dad faithfully read the ads. He could tell you the best deals at every store. He also read the paper every day! When they lived in Arizona his favorite thing to do was calling us in the winter to let us know it was 80 degrees there! Thanks for being my dad. I will always love & miss you. Until me meet again. Love, Julie

Bob was always friendly and kind to me and my daughter. I will remember family get togethers and taking Caitlin to his and Sharon’s home trick or treating. Blessings to him, Sharon, Julie, Jason, and all of the family.
