Born on April 2, 1948, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Calvin lived a remarkable life defined by hard work, entrepreneurship, family, and an adventurous spirit.
Calvin was raised on a family farm near Minatare, Nebraska, where he learned the values of dedication, perseverance, and responsibility while working alongside his family. He graduated from Minatare High School in 1967 and carried those strong rural roots with him throughout his life.
In 1969, Calvin married Linda Hubbard. Together they continued farming and raised their children Shelly Perkins (Patrick), Bryan Keller, and Leslie Keller Hodge. Over the years, he successfully developed and owned numerous Arby's, Applebee's, Burger King, Carl's Jr., 5 & Diner, Blockbuster Video, and TCBY franchises.
Later in life, Calvin reunited with and married his high school sweetheart, Diane. Together they shared many happy years filled with travel, family, and making memories. Calvin also cherished his relationships with his stepchildren, Tyler Morehead (Karin) and Jason Morehead (Shelly), and their families.
Calvin lived life with endless energy and enthusiasm. He loved traveling and was always planning his next adventure. He enjoyed spending time at the lake and boating, attending auctions, collecting and appreciating cars, farming, and trying his luck at the casinos. His zest for life was contagious, and he rarely sat still for long.
Above all, Calvin was devoted to his family. He built a life centered on hard work and deep love for those around him. He was known for his generosity, quick humor, unwavering determination, and his steady presence. His family and friends will remember him as someone who always showed up, worked hard, and lived life to the fullest.
