

Carolyn Rose Nash, 70, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. At her request, cremation has taken place at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home Crematory in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Carolyn was born to Henry and Rose (Kufeldt) Minch on November 19, 1943 in a car on Angora Hill in rural Morrill County while the family was trying to drive to the Alliance Hospital. She received her education at Minatare and Scottsbluff schools, graduating from Scottsbluff High with the Class of 1962. She was a member of the National Honor Society and worked at Ledbetters, A & W, and Dash In. Carolyn married Allan Hatch on Sept. 16, 1962. To this union, two children were born, Douglas and Tamara. Carolyn and Allan owned Hatch’s Conoco and bought the National Car Rental franchise. Allan passed away on January 3, 1972.
Carolyn married Jerry Nash in 1974 and the family was complete with the addition of Jerry’s sons Mark and Shane. Due to Jerry’s career the family made numerous moves, eventually settling in Scottsbluff when Jerry retired in 2009. Carolyn managed to make every house the family lived in a home as well as work outside the home for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Avon, Wyoming Department of Family Services, and Nash Air.
Carolyn lived life to the fullest, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She enjoyed the simple things in life most. She was a homemaker and mother first and foremost. Her daughter Tammy lived with Carolyn and Jerry when Stephanie was born and they helped raise her for the first few years of her life. Carolyn and Jerry took many trips, including memorable cruises and concerts throughout the USA. She loved her dog Charlie and missed him very much since his death.
She enjoyed sharing her bits of wisdom with the family, even if they weren’t quite ready for her advice. She valued education and a strong work ethic and encouraged those same qualities of her family. She had a green thumb and enjoyed plants and flowers. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Carolyn and Jerry babysat Gabi Rose until Carolyn became ill. She was the light of Carolyn's life.
She is survived by her husband Jerry; son Doug (JoAnn) Hatch and their children Nicole Hatch, Tyler (Torie) Hatch and their daughter Brooklynn; daughter Tamara (Tim) Herman and their children Timothy, Stephanie (Gabe) Rodriguez and their children Gabriela and Catalina, Tiffany (Ian) Reynolds and their children Madyson, Dylan, and Tristian, and Jeremy (Tiffany) Herman and their children Carsyn, Landon, Xavier, and Sabrena; son Mark (Shanna) Nash; son Shane Nash and his sons Jacob and Christian; sister Lydia Becking; brother Ed (Frieda) Minch; brother-in-law Elmer “Ace” Nash; sisters-in-law Dorothy Minch, Jeannie Anderson, Carol (Bill) Martindale, Betty (Charles) Tockey, and Mitzi (Sonny) Dursteler; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and brothers Leroy, Harry, Johnny, and Elmer.
