Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com for the Anaya family.
Cathy was born February 5, 1958, in Quanah, Texas to Francisco and Catarina Garcia. The family moved to Nebraska in 1966. She attended Mitchell Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Juan Ramiro Anaya on June 25, 1976, in Torrington, Wyoming.
The couple moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where they made their home and raised their family. She was happiest when caring for her plants, raising canaries, shopping, and cooking for her loved ones. Caring for others was at the heart of who she was- not only in her career as a caretaker, but also in the love and dedication she gave to her grandchildren and family every day.
Cathy is survived by her children; son Ramiro (Acerina) Anaya and family: Juan Lorenzo, Sophia (Mikey Alexis), and Angelica Anaya, daughter Melissa (Tyler) Kersenbrock and family: Alexys (Kelly Snelling), Ayden, and Addisyn Kersenbrock; son Rogelio (Brigitte) Anaya and family: Josiah, Alyssa, and Bailee (Teigan Brunner) Anaya; great grandchildren Anthony Anaya, Zaelyn Alexis, and Paisley Green; she looked forward to welcoming two great-granddaughters soon and held them close in her heart; siblings: Fred (Lucy) Garcia, Roy Garcia, Lydia (Manuel) Cortinez, Lucy Rodriquez (Jesus Sauceda), Mary (Hector) Mata, Sylvia (Armando) Ramirez, Dahlia (Gabriel) Anaya, and Armando (Maria) Garcia; and several extended family members.
Cathy was welcomed in heaven by her loving husband Juan Ramiro Anaya; her parents; her in-laws Severino and Antonia Anaya; grandson Santiago Anaya; siblings; Rosalinda Guerra, Frank and Ernest Garcia; nephew Manuel Cortinez Jr., and niece Arlene Anaya-Castro.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tjan, Barb, and the oncology team at Regional West, Brookstone Hospice, and Monument Healthcare nursing staff for the compassionate care, kindness, and support shown to her and our family during this time.
