Cathy was born on September 4th, 1956, to Rhine and Leah (Dillman) Dittenber. She married Scott Livengood in November 1975. Together, they raised two children, Marci Kay and Jerrod Scott.
Cathy spent many years working outside the home and was perhaps most famously known as “the candle lady.” She had a natural gift for sales and a personality that made people want to know her. She loved entertaining and had a way of making everyone feel welcome.
But Cathy’s greatest love was taking care of the people she loved. She devoted many years to lovingly and carefully caring for her son Jerrod, always wanting to give him the very best life possible. She was incredibly proud of her one and only grandson, baby Jake, who was truly the light of her life. Cathy and Jake were much more than grandmother and grandson—they were close friends, partners in crime, and two peas in a pod.
Cathy never knew a stranger. Her outgoing personality drew people to her, and her heart of gold left an impression on everyone she met. She was loving, generous, and caring, and anyone fortunate enough to know her knew they had a friend for life. Cathy loved hard—with her family, her fur babies, her friends, and her neighbors. She gave so much of herself to those around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She dearly loved her Zion church family. She was always willing to help, especially by making salads and desserts for funerals. Serving others brought her joy, and her generous and caring heart touched many lives.
Cathy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marci and JJ Meyer; her grandson, Jake Meyer; Mother-in-law Nina Jackson, Aunt Helen Foos; numerous other cousins; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Larry Steinbrecher; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Pat Livengood; nieces Amy and (Jeremy) Gittlein, Lori (John) McArthur, Beth (Brian) Mullen, Stacie (Luke) Ward, Brenda (Shane) Hess, special cousin Trisha (Ryan) Foote, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is proceeded in death her parents Rhine & Leah Dittenber; her husband, Scott Livengood; son, Jerrod Livengood; an infant brother; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Cathy leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, and memories that will be treasured forever. Her generous heart and unforgettable personality will live on in everyone blessed to have known her.

Funeral Services for Cathy will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Zion Evangelical Church at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Andrew Griess officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made in care of the family to be designated at a later date.
Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel is entrusted with Cathy’s care and funeral arrangements.
