

Charles Linden Mulford, 78, of Scottsbluff, died Monday, September 8, 2008, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Western Nebraska Veteran’s Home multi-purpose room in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to Western Nebraska Veteran’s Home. Charles Linden Mulford was born September 16, 1929, in Stuart, Nebraska to Charles McKinley and Nellie Grace (Chenoweth) Mulford. He grew up in the Cleveland community north of Stuart, graduating from Stuart High School in 1948. He married Loretta Berry on August 12, 1951. He served his country as a paratrooper in the Army. He joined the Nebraska State Patrol in 1959, retiring in 1985. Charles later divorced and he married Sandy Pickenpaugh in 1989. In February of 1997, he moved to the Veteran’s Home. He is survived by his children, Anthony (Karen) Mulford of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Sharon Mulford of Valentine, and Berry (Jessie) Mulford of Del Rio, Texas; brothers, Bill (Jean) Mulford of Derby, Kansas and Fred ( Leona) Mulford of Lincoln; sister, Laura Woodcock of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
